The week of November 9-15, 2020, about 3 million citizens throughout Peru took to the streets to protest against the congressional coup that imposed Manuel Merino as President of Peru. Showing their indignation and discontent at what they considered a non-representative political class and alien to the population, thousands of protesters invaded the streets of Lima with a single objective: to reach Congress and force the exit of the country's self-proclaimed highest authority. The police officers used excessive force and fired at the protesters with illegal ammunition, such as glass marbles and lead pellets.
